Does back pressure affect the selection of pump head?

The head of the main heat transfer pump selected by our company is insufficient, resulting in inadequate back pressure for the secondary heat transfer pump. I would like to ask whether back pressure affects the head selection for secondary heat pump systems, and if there are any ways to compensate for insufficient back pressure
I’m not very familiar with your specific process. Is it from the outlet of the main heat transfer pump to the inlet of the secondary heat transfer pump? If that’s the case, 1: if the head difference is not significant, reduce the outlet flow rate of the main heat transfer pump; at the same time, is it possible to add a smaller pump? 2. Either add a relay pump in between, or if that doesn’t work, 3. check whether it’s possible to replace the impeller of the original main coal-fired pump with one that is larger; this requires discussing with the pump manufacturer to see if there is such a possibility
