What are people generally using low-temperature heat sources for in atmospheric and vacuum distillation units? Here, it goes through top circulation, mid-stage processing, high-temperature heat exchange, and then cooling. . . It’s not very useful in general,,,

Can the waste heat from residue oil be used as a heat source for a 3-kilogram steam generator? I’ve seen a design from a Beijing-based institute that uses waste heat to generate 3 kilograms of steam; from an energy-saving perspective, I don’t think it’s a very good technical approach. . . :lol

The atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit is energy-intensive as a whole; the heat extracted from various side streams and mid-stage reflux streams is generally used to heat the feedstock or crude oil, so there is no excess heat. Additionally, the water injection system also needs to be heated.
The utilization of heat at normal pressure and low temperatures is not as effective as that achieved through catalysis; side streams and residue oil are used for heat exchange with the feedstock, thereby raising the temperature of the feedstock and reducing fuel consumption. The heat remaining in the residue oil is generally used for heating in winter.
Steam is generated and low-temperature hot water is produced based on different temperatures and amounts of heat. Steam is generated to produce low-temperature hot water for comprehensive use throughout the plant.
