Some basic experiences in CAD drawing

CAD drawing should be carried out in accordance with **drawing standard settings; there is a significant difference between CAD drawing and hand-drawn drawings. Based on years of experience in creating drawings, the basic settings are as follows: Layers: There are generally 5 main layers – solid thin lines, solid thick lines, dashed lines, center lines, and dotted lines. Line width: Solid thick lines have a width of 0.18 mm, while thin lines have a width of 0.09 mm. It is mainly to save ink during printing. Line color: thick solid lines are green, thin solid lines are blue or white, center lines are red, dashed lines are yellow, and dotted lines are white. When drawing, keep the following in mind: 1. Do not draw lines on the existing lines; in other words, ensure that the drawing is clean. Repeated lines may not affect the final output, but they make it difficult to make changes and also consume more ink during printing. 2: It is best to set the minimum drawing unit to 0.1 mm. Those familiar with CAD can set the drawing area. 3: When drawing, use z->space->e->space or z->space->a->space to switch between the overall and partial views. In other words, use the keyboard to enter commands more often. 4: To achieve better quality when printing the image, print it as a PDF first. Note however that the line width remains the same after conversion, but vertical and horizontal lines may appear with different widths when printed. 5: For drawing, use Ctrl+S to save frequently; you can also set automatic saving every 1 minute
There’s no place where I can use it, and some of the aspects seem unreasonable to me. For example, layer settings are not that simple. One more thing: automatic saving every 1 minute is absolutely unacceptable. That would probably drive a person crazy! ! ! Large drawings take a long time to save; you have to wait a minute each time – are you still going to draw? 10% of the time spent at work each day is used waiting. I usually save automatically every 120 minutes. If you don’t want to work for nothing, remind yourself to save the work after completing each stage.
120 minutes on the upper level is way too long. I usually set the automatic save interval to 30 minutes, and I make sure to save manually from time to time to avoid wasting effort. Setting layers is really troublesome; it’s not as simple as what the original poster said. However, it varies from person to person – one of my colleagues never sets up layers at all

With a computer equipped with 1 GHz or more CPU and 512 MB of memory, even the largest CAD drawings can be opened without any slowdowns, unless you try to use CAD to create 3D models, especially those containing numerous threaded holes. 1-minute saving is the default setting. If the machine is slow, it defaults to every 10 minutes to 20 minutes. It’s the first time I’ve heard of an example where saving CAD drawings takes a lot of time. However, I once opened a DOC document that was over 20 meters long, and it really took me a lot of time. Layers are something that one must create when learning to draw; I don’t see anything complicated about them. You don’t need layers for drawing, unless you’re creating very simple drawings. In fact, the setup of layers requires careful attention; just like managing archive files, the way in which they are categorized needs to be done scientifically.
Strange, is there drawing that doesn’t use layers? Hey, may I ask how to handle the linear part?
Where does this standard come from? Did LZ summarize it themselves? It seems like there are many unsuitable aspects
