Our facility has just installed a set of finned-tube heat exchangers, which use producer gas and water as the working media. The producer gas contains some tar and dust, and I’m constantly worried about blockages. I would appreciate it if any experts could share their experience or suggestions on this issue!
Soot blowing methods? Since the medium is gas, air cannot be used; the maximum pressure of steam is only 0.3 MPa, and tar will solidify if it remains in contact with dust for an extended period of time!
Could a filtering device be added before it enters the heat exchanger? For the components mentioned by the original poster, I can think of no better solution. Would it be feasible to add a filtering device to clean the fluid? Looking forward to experienced people downstairs providing answers.
Our producer gas, after merging from the upper and lower streams, first passes through a dust collector and a safety water seal. The dust collector uses cyclone dust removal; its effectiveness is limited – it can remove some coal ash and similar substances, but there is still a considerable amount of dust in the gas. Following that, we use heat pipes in the waste boiler, which also have fins. Since each heat pipe is angled at a significant degree relative to the horizontal, the dust that accumulates on the fins falls off automatically once it reaches a certain thickness. Additionally, controlling the temperature at the gas outlet helps to prevent dew point corrosion to the greatest extent possible.
