Hello everyone, I’m a newcomer who has just switched from the chlor-alkali industry to the gasification sector. I hope to receive guidance from all of you who are more experienced; thank you very much! :Our company’s lignite is intended to be used for gasification in order to produce synthetic ammonia and urea. However, as we are new to the field of coal gasification, we feel quite helpless. We would appreciate it if experts could advise us on which type of gasifier would be suitable. The quality parameters of our coal are as follows: moisture content ranges from 11.98% to 35.42%, with an average of 18.85%; ash content ranges from 14.66% to 37.89%, with an average of 27.66% – it’s medium-to-high ash content coal. The volatile matter content ranges from 46.72% to 54.79%, with an average of 49.41% – it’s high-volatile matter coal. (Std) Sulfur content: 0.36–0.65%, average 0.46%; ultra-low sulfur–low sulfur coal (Qb,ad). Ash-free, dry basis calorific value: 16.02–25.2 MJ/kg, average 19.62 MJ/kg; high-calorific-value lignite. No coking; ash melting point: greater than 1300 degrees. Conclusion: High-quality lignite with extremely low sulfur and phosphorus content, moderate to high ash content, and high calorific value.

The Lurgi pressure gasification technology can be considered; it is suitable for lignite gasification, requires less investment, has a simple operation process, and its equipment can largely be manufactured domestically. It’s just that wastewater treatment is a bit more troublesome.
