Enameled steel reactors should be heavy; that’s the case with the ones in our company – they have an enamel layer applied over a steel base!
I think glass-lined reactors are heavy
Is the wall thickness the same? Is it a composite panel? The density of graphite is 2.62; the density of enamel is unknown! The one with the higher density is heavier, when the volumes are the same!
The enamel is that thick, so it can’t be very heavy! The key is to consider the weight of the steel container
When the quality of the metal steel shell is the same, the graphite lining is heavier; the density of graphite after impregnation is generally around 1800 KG/M3. Usually, two layers of this lining are used, applied in an overlapping manner, with each layer having a thickness of 12 mm
Are the design pressure and temperature the same? It is recommended that you find a manufacturer and ask them to send you a sample or manual for review.
