How should the distance between an air compressor installed in an open area (under a shelter) and a natural gas emergency generator be determined? Can they be arranged adjacent to each other? The relevant specifications cannot be found, but it seems that if natural gas leaks in, it will enter the air compressor and increase the concentration in the instrument air system, which is unsafe; even if the concentration is low, it’s still not ideal. Note: The air compressor is only used to compress air for instrument use in production. Urgent, thank you!
I forgot to mention that this facility is a level 5 natural gas station, which serves as a gas collection station.
They cannot be arranged adjacent to each other; the regulations require this, see the \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering\"
I checked the relevant specifications again just now and think it can be considered this way: since the air compressor is an auxiliary production facility and the generator set uses natural gas, from a safety perspective, it can be classified as a Class A device, which would provide a basis for determining the required safety distances.
