Is it acceptable to use a single-face mechanical seal plus Plan11 flushing for the chloropropene transfer pump? Thank you
What processing technique? What are the pressure and temperature for transporting polypropylene? What are the pump’s flow rate and head? Only then can the machine seal and flushing plan be determined! :)
With flushing water on one end face, it has a simple structure and is easy to maintain. However, the internal solution can easily leak, and it is not suitable for toxic, harmful, or high-pressure media. For applications with high requirements, special mechanical seals or impeller seals can be used
The transfer temperature is 35 degrees, the flow rate is 25 m3/h, and the head is 50 m; other details were not provided by the customer.
I think a single-face mechanical seal + Plan11 flushing can be used. Because the operating conditions are neither high temperature nor high pressure, and moreover polypropylene is not toxic! So even if the seal fails, it won’t cause much harm! :)
Under these operating conditions, the seal should be fine
The medium is chloropropene, not polypropylene.
