The shell sides of the feed heaters in several dilution steam generators at our plant are severely scaled, making cleaning extremely difficult. High-pressure water cleaning is usually used; cleaning the tube side is relatively simple, but it’s very difficult to clean the shell side. It’s already good if one can penetrate 5 or 6 layers from the outside, as the inner layers are basically impossible to reach. Do any of you have any good recommendations?
Analyze the scale composition and carry out chemical cleaning. It should work well.
Agree with the opinion above; chemical cleaning can be used. Also, when designing in general, it’s better to use materials that are difficult to clean for the tube side. This factor can be taken into consideration next time purchasing equipment
Before core extraction, flushing oil (pan oil) is used for flushing and soaking, which can dissolve and soften most of the coking substances formed by rapid cooling oil.
If physical methods don’t work, then soaking in chemical medicinal wine can be used, along with mechanical cleaning and high-pressure water jets; if that still doesn’t suffice, disassembly is the only option. The key to a long equipment lifespan lies in regular maintenance and cleaning.
