The viscosities of materials A and B are known to be a and b, respectively, and they are to be mixed to form a substance with viscosity c. What is the ratio of A to B? Is there a formula?
It can be estimated using the formula for the viscosity of liquid phase mixtures from chemical engineering principles. However, that formula is only applicable to ideal solutions. Suggestion: Find a viscometer and conduct experiments to measure it; this makes it easy to determine the proper ratio.
I’m not sure whether the material referred to by LZ is a gas or a liquid. The viscosity of a gas mixture can be calculated using the following formula: (v_mix)^(1/3) = (v1)^(1/3) + (v2)^(1/3) + (v3)^(1/3) + (v4)^(1/3) …… where v_mix represents the viscosity of the mixed gas; v1, v2, v3 —— are the viscosities of Gas 1, Gas 2, and Gas 3, respectively.
Floor 1: The two types of materials can be: i) gas-gas, ii) liquid-liquid, iii) gas-liquid, iv) gas-liquid to gas-liquid, v) liquid-liquid (with solids). . . Various viscosity algorithms are different! Please explain.
The calculation formulas can only be theoretical; it’s best to conduct actual measurements, taking them at different temperatures several times to obtain more reliable results.
I’m curious about liquids, but if the raw materials are expensive, how can one test the proportions? It’s better to get a calculation formula. Thank you
It is recommended that the owner consult the third edition of the Chemical Process Design Manual or the Petrochemical Design Manual, or seek someone in the Aspen section to help with the calculations
Refutation of the liquid-liquid method: 1) Calculate VBN: VBN1 = 14.534 x ln + 10.975; VBN2 = 14.534 x ln + 10.975; … VBNn = 14.534 x ln + 10.975. Is the weight factor for summation missing on the right side of the formula on the 3rd floor? It seems to be related to the components as well; should the molar percentage of each component be multiplied in front of each term on the right side? Otherwise, the formula seems incorrect.
