Who has used a glass heat exchanger? I have six sets of glass heat exchangers here, and the ball-end flanges connected to them keep breaking, which causes frequent shutdowns and is quite troublesome. Do anyone have any good solutions?
Our set of waste acid concentration equipment uses glass heat exchangers, but they are all imported from Germany; we haven’t encountered the problem you mentioned.
The reasons why the flanges connected to the ball valves keep breaking are: sudden temperature changes, excessive temperature differences, mechanical impacts, water hammer, vibrations, and so on. Recommendation: Glass equipment is usually chosen due to its corrosion resistance and the ability to maintain material cleanliness. However, it is not resistant to temperature fluctuations or mechanical damage. If it is necessary to observe the condition of the material, glass viewing ports or sight tubes can be installed on the relevant pipes, which is a safer option than using glass equipment.
