One can refer to Appendix C of SH/T3532-2005, but the version from 1995 provides more detailed information. 1 When the test pressure for the shell side is equal to or higher than that for the tube side, testing is first carried out on the shell side, followed by testing on the tube side, and finally testing on the shell side again. (1) Shell side pressure testing: Remove the tube box, outer cover, and floating head cover; install pressure testing rings at both ends, apply pressure to the shell, and inspect the connections between the shell, heat exchange tubes, and tube sheets. (2) Pressure testing of the tube side: Remove the pressure testing ring, install the tube box and the floating head cover, apply pressure to the tube side, and inspect the relevant parts of the tube box and the floating head. (3) Shell side pressure testing: Install the outer cover, apply pressure to the shell side, and inspect the shell, outer cover, and related components. 2 When the test pressure for the tube side is higher than that for the shell side, the tube bundle is pressurized first, followed by testing the tube side, and finally the shell side is pressurized. (1) For bundle pressure testing, the bundle is removed, and pressure test rings, tube boxes, and floating head covers are installed. Pressure is applied to the bundle to inspect the relevant areas of the joints between the heat exchange tubes and the tube sheets. (2) Piping pressure testing: Install the pipe bundle inside the shell, fit in the tube box and floating head, apply pressure to the pipe bundle, and inspect the tube box, floating head, and related areas. (3) Shell-side pressure testing: Install the outer cover, apply pressure to the shell side, and inspect the shell, outer cover, and related components.
