I am now designing a 300,000-ton methanol project that uses fixed-bed batch gasification technology with 2,650-type gasifiers. I would like to ask experienced experts: what are the typical temperatures for the upward gas, downward gas, and purge gas? Is it necessary to set a temperature alarm? If necessary, what are the upper and lower alarm values? Do I need to set it for both overreporting and underreporting? Additionally: Are temperature sensors required for the steam by-product pipeline of the gas generator jacket and the water inlet pipeline for the jacket? And is it necessary to call the police? Our factory uses furnaces that are 2.4 meters long; the temperature levels at the upper and lower ends are around 220 and 320 degrees respectively. These temperatures are often adjusted. There was no alarm system in place when using single-board controllers; now, the DCS triggers an alarm whenever any control parameter is out of range. There is no temperature reading on the inlet and outlet pipes of the jacket, but there is a temperature reading on the jacket itself – this is to prevent the jacket from being damaged due to lack of water. There are readings for pressure and liquid level on the steam drum; however, it seems there is no temperature reading on the steam drum.
Our factory uses 2610 gas generation furnaces, with the temperatures on the upper and lower sections being controlled at around 250 and 300 degrees respectively, while the temperature of the blast air is around 220 degrees. There is no need to install temperature alarms; the temperatures on the upper and lower sections serve as the main criteria for operation and are important indicators. Operators can make timely adjustments and controls based on the actual conditions. It is necessary to install a thermometer and an alarm on the rising pipe of the jacket, mainly to determine whether there is a lack of water in the jacket, and to indirectly assess the heating condition inside the furnace during temperature elevation. The jacket generally produces saturated steam at a temperature of around 120 degrees, so the alarm temperature can be set at 130 degrees. Or, depending on the actual conditions, set the jacket temperature about 5 degrees above the normal range.
Thank you very much. I also asked people from several factories, and the operating conditions vary from one factory to another. A value of 250-350 for the upward direction and 150-250 for the downward direction is considered normal. It’s hard to decide then what value to use in the design
