Consult about RF LEVEL TRANSMITTER

On one device, I saw that this type of gauge was used on many containers; at first I thought it was a radar, but upon getting closer I saw that it read RF LEVEL TRANSMITTER. I wonder what the advantages of this type of level gauge are, and which one is better, it or radar? Thank you! :)
It should be called a radio frequency level gauge; it differs from radar in that it uses a different range of electromagnetic wave frequencies.
It should be a radio frequency admittance level transmitter.
