Our factory produces methanol, with coke oven gas as the raw material. The general process flow is as follows: gas holder – compression of coke oven gas – advanced desulfurization – conversion – compression of syngas – synthesis – distillation – pure methanol tank. I’m not sure what process is used for locking in various workplaces; please share it so we can discuss it together.

The process in our plant is as follows: gas holder – coke oven gas compression – advanced desulfurization – conversion – syngas compression – synthesis – distillation – pure methanol tank. Regardless of the raw gas used, it must be converted into the components necessary for synthesizing methanol, namely carbon monoxide and hydrogen. After the conversion is complete, the subsequent processes are basically the same.
I want to know the composition of the gas after conversion; is further transformation needed?
No conversion is needed; after conversion, the composition is approximately 70% hydrogen, 16–18% carbon monoxide, and 8% carbon dioxide. It can be sent directly to the synthesis process
Methane levels need to be kept below 0.5; some factories require carbon dioxide levels to be below 8 as well
The main difference lies in conversion; everything else is pretty much the same.
