When to use a manual valve and when to use an automatic one? It depends on the process requirements; if automatic adjustment is necessary for the process, an automatic valve must be used to achieve it ; If automatic adjustment is not desired, either manual or automatic operation is possible; however, the automatic valve is more expensive. If the valve is large and operated frequently, making manual operation inconvenient, an automatic valve can be used.
Key areas, those that require frequent adjustment due to regular operation. A control valve must be installed. Fast opening and closing are required; cut-off valves must be installed for the two valve positions ; Regulating valves must be installed at the locations where flow regulation is required. Those requiring voltage stabilization control must be equipped with a regulating valve or pressure reducing valve.
It mainly depends on the requirements of the manufacturing process; there are also relevant regulations in some standard specifications
Obviously, where automatic valves are used, manual valves are also required in those areas. Locations where automatic valves are installed are those where operation is difficult, precise control is needed, and frequent adjustments are required. However, during startup or shutdown, workers still tend to use manual valves first, gradually introducing automatic valves into the system during operation. During normal production, it is usually the automatic valves that are in use.
There are many factors to consider: cost, ease of operation, process licensing, frequency of operation, and so on.
The principles for selection are nothing more than operation being agile and accurate, as well as easy to adjust and control
The automatic valves previously used in our plant, including those for the brine entering the tank, the alkali entering the tank, and the pure water added, were all under automatic control; however, after valve failures occurred, they were all switched to manual operation. Economic considerations are one aspect; the most important thing is stability.
