Our plant has three 260t/h circulating fluidized bed boilers manufactured by Hangzhou Boiler Factory, and during operation the air nozzles often get blown off, causing a large amount of slag to fall into the water-cooled air chamber. Since this type of boiler does not have a drain pipe in its water-cooled air chamber, the ash and slag can only be removed through the manhole. It’s very troublesome. We also often encounter situations where the wind cap gets blown off, usually once every 1.5 to 2 months. I welded it all myself and then poured refractory concrete over it. Wait 72 hours for maintenance before use (we have two 75-ton circulating fluidized bed units that are used alternately).
Three ribs should be added to the wind cap for reinforcement.
The wind caps were blown away; it’s the first time I’ve heard of that. We’ve had them in use here for 5 years now, and no such incidents of wind caps being blown away have occurred. Also, is it possible to manufacture the wind caps as part of an integral casting?

This problem shouldn’t occur frequently; worn wind caps are an issue.
It hasn’t happened; it’s only occurred that the wind cap wore out during use. If this happens frequently, it might be because the wind cap is not fitted tightly enough. When purchasing one next time, it’s necessary to measure it first. When replacing our wind caps, we have to open the casting material first, and then use a sledgehammer along with a ram to remove it. Additionally, the pouring material may not have been poured properly; a good pouring material should ensure that the air cap is firmly secured. If that’s not possible, a shallow groove can be made at the bottom of the air cap during its fabrication to help secure it in place.
