The sodium hydroxide solution contains anionic impurities such as fluorine and chlorine; I want to remove them. I’m not sure what method to use. One of my friends suggested using crystallization to do this, but the concentration of sodium hydroxide in my solution is around 200 grams per liter. Adding a large amount of sodium hydroxide will affect the concentration of my solution. If the amount of alkali added does not exceed 320 grams per liter, please let me know. If the fluoride content is very high, slaked lime can be used to remove it. First, conduct a small-scale test to determine the appropriate amount (ratio) of slaked lime to be used; thereafter, during production, the fluoride level can be analyzed first, and then slaked lime can be added according to the ratio determined in the small-scale test. I think sodium carbonate can be used for titration to determine the end point. The appearance of a white precipitate indicates that the fluoride has been successfully removed (provided that the requirements regarding calcium are not strict)
Is it analyzing a solution? Is it necessary to remove it? If the answer is yes: it is recommended that you use high-purity sodium hydroxide for preparation; otherwise, trace impurities are difficult to remove
If it is an analytical reagent, it is recommended that you replace it.
