How is air tightness tested for instruments? Especially for the airtightness inspection of the pressure lead pipes, is there a specific plan?
Conduct a leak test together with the process pipeline; when testing the process pipeline for leaks, open the check valve and use soapy water to check whether there are any leaks at the various connection points.
After the new pressure tap is installed, it is generally tested by applying water pressure. New valves are generally sent to a testing facility for pressure testing before installation. If the device is under maintenance and there are no instrument equipment pipelines that have been touched, then no separate pressure testing is required. Conduct the airtightness check of the instrument system simultaneously while performing the airtightness test of the device.
In this way, many leaks may be detected, which will affect the progress of airtightness testing. We generally conduct aseptic testing separately for each set of instruments when installing them, as there are specific installation guidelines for this.
Generally, leak testing is done first, and the valves must undergo specialized pressure testing for leaks.
Try welding first; if that’s not possible, use soft seals such as PTFE. The threads should be tightened in one go.
