For the initial start-up of delayed coking, after the diesel has been removed, it is necessary to introduce wax oil into the system for circulation. The documentation states that it is required to analyze the residue on combustion of the wax oil as well as its distillation range at 365 degrees; I’m not sure what this means Is it necessary? Also, is it necessary to conduct another moisture analysis when the wax oil is in open-loop circulation? What is the indicator value? Please give me more guidance!

Testing for wax oil residue and boiling range is necessary only to assess the quality of the wax oil; if the wax oil is produced by your own facility and the storage area is well-managed so that it remains free of contamination (i.e., free from any mixture with residue oil), then there’s no need to analyze those indicators of the wax oil at all... 3. A water content of 1–1.5% or less is sufficient... :lol
