Is a hydrostatic test required after the manhole cover is modified?

The manhole cover has been modified with two pipe openings welded on; is a hydrostatic test required after the modification?
If it belongs to a pressure vessel, I personally think it should be tested.
Article 126 of the Code only states that a pressure test is required when the weld repair depth of the main pressure-bearing components exceeds 1/2 of the wall thickness.
It is unclear whether what the original poster meant by “welding two pipe ends” is to add two new pipe ends; in that case, it would fall under the category of \"replacing pressure-bearing components using welding methods\". According to Article 7 of the Inspection Regulations, a pressure test must be conducted after successful inspection.
For now, I consider conducting a hydraulic pressure test for this issue. Since carrying out a hydraulic test on-site is rather complicated, my initial plan is to create a testing fixture for such tests. Everyone is welcome to continue discussing this.
If it is a pressure vessel, it must be done.
I don’t think it’s a matter of discussing whether a hydrostatic test is necessary; once holes are made, the strength has to be calculated based on the model of the cover or flange used to cover those holes............
