Have you all come across containers with vent pipes when designing containers? What is a vent pipe used for?
“I’ve never heard of a “vent pipe” either. What kind of container is the author talking about, and in what context? Is the author referring to the design of container equipment or pipeline design?
Like LS, I haven’t heard of it either. Is it an exhaust pipe?
Do you mean the vent pipe that needs to be punched and depressurized, like the \"coal lock\" used to feed a gasifier under certain pressure?
A vent pipe is also known as an exhaust pipe; they both mean the same thing.
"The term ‘venting pipe’ is generally used in pipeline transportation, gas (oil) filling stations, etc., and it also appears in relevant standards. This concept does not exist in general factory design. A vent pipe == means local venting; however, there are no strict requirements in factory design regarding the height of such vents, and this can be seen in ordinary gas stations.
It is commonly used for the venting of flammable gases, to expel and disperse the released gases. It is generally required to extend beyond the building so that these gases can disperse quickly, thereby preventing explosions or deflagrations.
