The bonuses were low at the end of last year; was it all because of the economic crisis?

Our company did well financially last year, but the bonuses given at the end of the year were less than in previous years. The boss said it was due to the economic crisis; I think they just found a good excuse. What do you think?
It’s frustrating – even though there is an economic crisis, many companies still had good profits last year. Under the pretext of the economic crisis, they continue to make profits while cutting employees’ year-end bonuses. Disgusting!
The economic crisis indeed brought disaster to certain industries, but it did not affect all of them. But many companies use the economic crisis as an excuse to avoid giving out year-end bonuses!
You’ve already calculated it, right? My company says that the finance department hasn’t yet worked out who deserves bonuses, so they still haven’t been paid. It’s really frustrating; I have to check my bank account every day when I get up. I feel so miserable.:L I’m currently in debt – please help me!:L :L :L
Our company hasn’t reduced salaries, but they’ve never been high either. Some time ago I read in the news that in 2009 many companies would be cutting salaries and bonuses for a long period of time; this gave some companies an opportunity. Even those that weren’t greatly affected took advantage of this situation. Workers will always be under pressure
It would be great if it were available. Our boss made it clear early on that we shouldn’t expect any year-end bonuses or salary increases this year. Besides, with so many layoffs, it’s great to have a job at all. I seem to be quite pessimistic.
Just keep a positive attitude; it’s not as if one has to rely on that year-end bonus to survive

Ours has also decreased a bit. But if we weren’t greatly affected in 2008, we still need to think about 2009. If everything is used up in the beginning and there’s no further development, how can a company continue to operate? The excuses they give are the same as those used by our company; it’s really frustrating. We were paid double salary before the New Year, and the boss promised to give us the remaining bonus after the New Year – but I have no idea when that will be :L
