What to do if there are no special tools for testing for leaks in heat exchangers with floating heads? Are there any good methods for leak testing?
It seems impossible to complete the pressure test without workwear.
The test tube head requires a pressure testing fixture; for reference, consult the \"Pressure Vessel Engineer Design Manual\", the thick blue book.
When testing floating-head heat exchangers, special tooling is required; it has to be dedicated tooling. However, the flanges of the tube box can be utilized, and the tube box heads do not need to be welded together at this stage.
Float head pressure testing requires special fixtures; if none are available, a pressure testing ring can be made, but it is troublesome to cut it off after the testing is complete.
