I think it should, at least the process packages I’ve seen usually include it!
According to that book, the process package includes pipeline design, and pipeline design requires that the pipeline grade be specified.
The process package should include instructions for material selection, especially for materials used in special media. A preliminary material grade table is sufficient; there is no need for something as detailed as that found in a detailed design.
Is it sufficient to just provide special pipes? If it is to be mentioned, what depth should that mention have?
In fact, the content and level of detail required for process packages are clearly specified in petrochemical standards; one can refer to standard SHSG-052-2003, which outlines the requirements for process design packages in petrochemical plants. The pipeline grade table is established by each design agency, and it may vary from one agency to another, with different grade numbers as well. In my opinion, it is sufficient to specify the material, design pressure and temperature, as well as the operating pressure and temperature.
Generally, there is no need to mention it – the pipeline grade table is established by the design agency itself, unless the design institute provides the table to the process package supplier and requests them to prepare it. So far, domestic installations generally do not require it.

The process packages I have worked on did not include any information regarding pipe grades, and no piping personnel were involved. For the process, it is sufficient to specify the materials used, as well as the design temperature and design pressure.
The process package should include a process piping table with details such as pipe number, start and end points, fluid type, pipe material, operating temperature, operating pressure, pressure class, nominal pipe diameter, and insulation information. In the future, when design firms carry out engineering design, the pipeline grade table will be prepared by the process installation team based on the process pipeline table. I agree with the opinion from the 10th floor; generally, providing these data is sufficient. More detailed designs need to be specified in advance, that is, required when signing the contract for the process package design.
The process package does not require a pipeline grade table (pipeline specification sheet), but when there are special requirements for the pipelines due to specific process media, these requirements must be specified. The pipeline grade table (pipeline specification sheet) is prepared during the preliminary design phase, with the construction drawings being refined thereafter.
