Seeking information for sharing. Brief overview: In line with the qualification examination and assessment system for registered metallurgical engineers in survey and design (in effect since 2006), the National Committee for Registered Metallurgical Engineers in Survey and Design organized experienced experts and scholars to compile the book \"Metallurgical Engineering Design.\" The entire set consists of three volumes: \"Design Fundamentals,\" \"Process Design,\" and \"Mechanical and Electrical Equipment and Industrial Furnace Design.\" This book is the second volume. This book is divided into nine chapters, namely: mineral processing, sintering, and pelletizing ; Steel manufacturing, including iron smelting, steelmaking, and ferroalloys ; Non-ferrous metal smelting, including the smelting of copper, nickel, cobalt, lead, zinc, tin, antimony, bismuth, gold, and magnesium; production of acid from smelting flue gases; production of alumina and electrolytic aluminum; production of carbon products and comprehensive recycling ; Steel rolling, including hot-rolled strips and sheets, cold-rolled strips and sheets, steel pipes, and shaped steel (wires) ; Non-ferrous metal processing, including aluminum casting, aluminum sheets and strips, aluminum tubes, rods, and profiles; copper casting, copper sheets and strips, copper tubes, rods, and profiles; as well as environmental protection and safety and hygiene ; Steel products, including special steel forgings, cast iron pipes, steel wires and wire fabrics ; Coking, including the preparation of coal for coking, production of coke, purification of coke oven gas, processing of coal tar, and plant pipelines ; Refractory materials, including the key points of production processes for several types of refractory materials, as well as the overall design of refractory material factories, production calculations, process layout, and the design of thermal furnaces ; General layout transportation, including site selection, overall arrangement, site planning, and transportation design. This book serves as a basic textbook for the examination for registered metallurgical engineers in survey and design, as well as for continuing education. It can also be used as a reference by scientific and technical managers in metallurgical enterprises, as well as by teachers and students in higher education institutions and technical personnel in research organizations.
