What is the typical temperature of coke oven gas when it leaves the conversion and production area and enters the plant’s gas network?
It varies slightly depending on the chemical production process. The temperature of the gas coming out of the benzene absorption tower is generally around 20-30 degrees.
There should be differences among various factories, generally within the range of 20 to 40 degrees
Positive pressure recovery process: net gas temperature of 25–30; Negative pressure recovery process: net gas temperature of 40–45
In summer it’s 40 degrees, and in winter it’s 25 degrees.
The process route determines the temperature of the gas; whether under positive pressure or full negative pressure, the operating temperature of the benzene washing tower remains essentially the same. The difference lies in the fact that, after the gas leaves the benzene washing tower, the full negative pressure process experiences a temperature increase after passing through the blower.
Positive pressure recovery process: 25–30; our plant uses 28. The value for negative pressure is not known. Nowadays, the common process is the positive pressure one, as negative pressure operation poses safety risks and is therefore not used. In the standard process, that temperature refers to the temperature of the gas exiting the benzene washing tower. My knowledge of such processes is limited; please forgive any inaccuracies.
Our factory requires the temperature to be kept below 40 degrees in summer and around 25 degrees in winter; we have cooling systems in place
