I would like to ask about the impact of water in the carbon scrubber tower on the gasification unit and the shift system!
Water presence may have an impact on the catalyst for the transformation.
It has no effect on gasification; it mainly affects the shift catalyst.
Some gasification units are equipped with a separator after the scrubber, which helps to prevent water from affecting the shift catalyst!
This leads to an increase in the resistance to transformation, affecting the operation of the transformation system and even posing a risk of shutdown
Generally, before purification, a gas-liquid separator is installed as the final barrier
As part of a facility upgrade, a cyclone separator was added to the outlet of the carbon scrubber; the water separated out is sent back to the carbon scrubber, which allows for better control of its liquid level compared to before!
Did that organization carry out such renovations? The water quality from the cyclone separator is only dirtier than that from the carbon scrubber; there is no reason to send the separated water back to the carbon scrubber. However, with the addition of the cyclone separator, the liquid level in the carbon scrubber is indeed easier to control.
