Are pipe expansion joints needed when laying PE pipes?
The expansion system for PE pipes is relatively large, much larger than that of metal pipes. When the pipes are long, pipe expansion joints need to be installed; for larger pipes, PTFE expansion joints can be used, while for smaller pipes, a gate-type bend suffices.
If the pipeline is long, pipe expansion joints need to be installed. Is 500 meters considered long? We didn’t add anything at all! There won’t be any problems, right? But they’re all buried underground!
Can PE pipes with a length of 500 meters be buried directly in the ground? What kind of fluid is being transported, and are there large temperature fluctuations in the pipes during use? I think that if a medium at near-room temperature is being transported, with minimal changes in pipe temperature, the current layout is fairly acceptable. However, for proper design, it is safer to include expansion joints.
