We are using a GC9800 gas chromatograph; there are two fans at the back of the device, and I don’t know which components they are used to cool down, as the manual doesn’t mention it. One fan is behind the control panel, and one is behind the column box. The fan behind the control panel of one machine is broken. Given that there are few samples but many chromatograms, it’s not clear whether it’s possible to use the chromatograph without this fan Thank you!
The function of the two fans is as follows: the column box fan is used to maintain a uniform temperature within the column box; it blows the hot air generated by the resistance wires, dispersing it evenly throughout the column box, with the temperature being controlled using thermocouples or a temperature control circuit； The latter fan is used to dissipate some of the heat. There is a valve between the two; when the temperature is slightly high, the valve opens a little, allowing the excess heat to be released. As the temperature rises further, the valve opens more widely, and during periods of high temperature it may even close completely. If cooled rapidly, the valve opens fully. Effects of the two: if the former does not rotate, the distribution inside the column box will be uneven, with higher temperatures near the fan ； If the latter fails, heat dissipation will be impaired. Controlling the temperature is difficult; when the temperature is unstable, the impact on analysis is obvious. These can be shut down for inspection. Open from the back of the chassis.
