How to understand transmitter excitation?

Transmitter excitation? Does it just provide power to the transmitter, and the transmitter does not need a separate external power supply? I am vague about this concept and I don’t know how this concept is defined professionally. I hope professionals can give some advice?
This is the first time I heard the concept of transmitter excitation. Generally speaking, there are excitation and non-excitation for coil-driven equipment. Excitation means the coil is electrified, de-excitation means the coil is not electrified.
This excitation is on the solenoid valve, the transmitter. I guess you saw this in the parameter settings~ I’ve always wanted to know this, let’s see if anyone downstairs can answer it.
