What are the factors that affect the resistance of a saturator? The resistance of the saturator in our plant has always been on the high side, exceeding 2000 Pa; at its highest, it reaches 2500–2600 Pa. We would appreciate hearing everyone’s insights!
In fact, it’s mainly the resistance of the preheater; the possibility of blockage inside the saturator is extremely low. 1. Treating the preheater is tricky; flushing it with hot ammonia water is the most common method. If necessary (when the resistance is 3.5 KPa), the saturator needs to be emptied, and the existing preheater must be removed and carefully prodded using steel pipes, as there are lumps inside that are quite hard. 2. It’s possible that the cyclone outlet section inside the saturator is blocked, or it’s possible that the full-flow outlet has become blocked, causing the liquid level to rise and thus reducing the size of the gas outlet. In such cases, it’s generally necessary to add more acid and extend the circulation time in order to clean out the deposits at various points. Additionally, it’s important to improve the tar removal system in the saturator as well as the efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator in capturing tar.
