I have installed the PROII 8.1 + SP1 patch version. Since it isn’t used frequently, it’s usually left idle. When I tried to use it today, I found that it wouldn’t work properly. The symptoms of the fault are as follows: 1. After clicking the program icon, the software interface can be opened, but if “File → New” is clicked again, the program closes immediately on its own. 2. If, after opening the software interface, you click “File → Open” in an attempt to import an existing file, and a file in *.prz format is selected for import, the software interface shows no response; while all menus can still be opened, the area where the contents of the imported file should appear remains gray and unresponsive. I wonder what exactly causes these phenomena? (Other than uninstalling the problematic software and reinstalling it) are there any other solutions?
Reinstalling will definitely solve this problem, but it’s just too troublesome. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a simpler way?
I’ve encountered the problem where clicking “File → New” causes the program to close; the reason for this is that the program path contains Chinese characters – this issue occurs when your system user has a Chinese name, for example. I’m not sure if the original poster has a problem in this area. If so, it still needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled. :L Last edited by fj170530 on 2009-2-11 14:23 ]
Right! I’ve encountered that issue too – the results couldn’t be saved. I later found out that folders with Chinese names shouldn’t be used!
