I’m asking for help – what are the typical requirements for temperature and humidity in a cabinet room? Are there any regulatory requirements in this regard?
Our country has established **Standard GB 2887-89** for the working environment of computer equipment; the temperature requirements for such an environment are specified in the table below: Grade, Temperature during operation, Temperature during shutdown – Grade A: 22±2°C, 20±2°C; Range: 5–35°C. Grade B: 15–30°C, 5–30°C. Grade C: 10–35°C, 10–40°C. The impact of humidity on computers: Too low a relative humidity can lead to the generation of static electricity, which can interfere with computer operations. Excessively high relative humidity increases the contact resistance at the solder joints inside the computer as well as those at the sockets. For computers, the humidity should ideally be between 30% and 80%. When the relative humidity is too high, such as above 80%, the risk of fogging **significantly increases; condensation occurs, which can cause components to become damp and deteriorate. It will degrade the contact performance of electrical contacts and even cause rusting, as well as leading to short circuits in the power supply system and electronic components. If the relative humidity is too low, static electricity can arise in the mechanical friction parts, damaging components and affecting the proper operation of the computer.
