CNPC and Sinopec both have their own engineering companies. Does CNOOC have corresponding engineering companies as well?
There are various small design institutes everywhere, such as Shandong Planning Institute and Yingpail

There are many engineering companies, such as Ocean Engineering and Oil Construction Group, which have acquired Sinochem Engineering Corporation; in terms of design capabilities, there are no design institutes that are as comprehensive as those of Sinopec and CNPC.
Shandong Chemical Engineering Planning and Design Institute joined China National Chemical Engineering Corporation. In October 2006, it became part of China National Offshore Oil Corporation along with the rest of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation’s assets. In March of this year, the institute became part of Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., and now its business activities are fully integrated into CNOOC’s internal market. Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. is a holding company of China National Offshore Oil Corporation that is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (stock abbreviation: COOEC, stock code: 600583). It is a high-tech enterprise recognized by the Tianjin New Technology Industry Park, as well as a Class A engineering design firm and a Class I construction enterprise. The company is currently the only general contractor in China that undertakes projects related to the development of offshore oil and gas fields. It is mainly involved in the design and construction of offshore oil and gas field development projects as well as their onshore terminals; the construction and installation of various types of dock structures; the laying of different kinds of submarine pipelines and cables; the loading, transportation, installation, and commissioning of jacket structures and modules for offshore oil and gas field platforms; as well as the inspection and maintenance of marine engineering systems and onshore facilities. CNOOC’s downstream refining capacity is far inferior to that of CNPC and Sinopec, so its design institutes cannot be compared to those of CNPC and Sinopec either.
