Steel welded pressure vessels specified in GB150 are only permitted to have circumferential seams and longitudinal seams； Moreover, the standards it cites do not include any standards for plate-welded pipes, especially those for pipes with spiral welds; therefore, they cannot be used.
It cannot be said that plate-welded pipes cannot be used in pressure vessels; stainless steel welded pipes from Shunde, Guangdong, can be used in pressure vessels as a substitute for seamless pipes. The key is to obtain certification from the **Pressure Vessel Standardization Committee. However, spiral-welded pipes cannot be used in pressure vessels, as their testing and certification have not yet been carried out
