Do fillet welds need to be calculated? What is the basis for this? Are there any calculation-related materials? I hope that person with rich experience can help answer it. Thank you

Compressed fillet welds (such as those in socket pipes) and fillet welds that are under significant stress (such as those on lugs, gasket supports, and supports for pipes that carry heavy loads) still need to be calculated.
For pressurized fillet welds, grooves shall be prepared in accordance with GB150; during welding, attention should be paid to the height of the weld root. As long as proper process evaluation is carried out, there will be no problems. Appendix D of GB150.3 contains welding diagrams; just follow those instructions. It indicates that the welding strength has never been calculated; it is sufficient to provide the groove dimensions and gap, with the remaining process aspects being taken into account.

I tend to agree with what Haiyou from the 3rd floor said. The shear stress is what is checked for fillet welds; generally, the force acting in the corresponding direction is divided by the area of the fillet weld, and it is sufficient that the resulting shear stress in that direction is less than the specified value.
