I would like to ask the experts here: given a working pressure of 0.1 MPa, a medium of water at a temperature of 100°C, and a flow rate of 50 m3/h, how should I design a mixer with a cylindrical structure and elliptical end caps? How can I determine its wall thickness and dimensions? I’m not an expert in pressure vessels, but I’ve encountered this issue; I hope the experienced professionals here can help me out. Thank you

I did a rough calculation: using Q235-B steel plate with a 3-meter inner diameter and a wall thickness of 8 millimeters. The actual calculation results are related to factors such as material and inner diameter.
Its external dimensions are those of a cylinder with a diameter of 426; the total length including the end caps is 1400 mm. Would a wall thickness of 10 mm be too thick and therefore not economical? Could someone expert in this area provide an explanation? It would be great if there were calculation procedures and formulas as well. Thank you!
The material is Q235B. A corrosion margin of 1 mm was also selected, with inlet and outlet diameters of DN100

We all use SW6 for calculations. You can write down your requirements and we’ll help you do the calculations; it’s necessary to specify what materials will be used, whether it’s a vertical or horizontal container, as well as the diameter and length, along with the dimensions of the connections.

There isn’t enough data – how do the experts calculate this? The volume needed to start must be specified, right? Otherwise, how can the dimensions be determined?
