During the production of vanadium pentoxide, the ammonium paravanadate obtained after precipitating vanadium from the vanadium-containing solution using ammonium salts appears pink – why is that?

The process flow is: spent catalyst—sodiation roasting—water leaching—phosphorus removal—vanadium precipitation—ammonium metavanadate
If ammonium metavanadate is washed again, can it remove the red substance? If not, conduct a semi-quantitative analysis to determine the elemental composition of the substance
Does wet vanadyl turn red or does it turn red only after drying?
If vanadyl peroxide is present, metavanadium will appear pink, but according to your process, vanadyl peroxide is not present. Did the solution have a color before precipitation?
Hehe, I’ve also come across pink ammonium metavanadate, but it had a purity of 99%; it was quite strange at the time

Check what the pH value is after precipitation
If you add acid to adjust the pH value during the production process, red color will appear. As long as the impurity removal process is proper throughout, there will be no issues with the quality of vanadium.
