- -!Silicon powder is rarely used with disc valves, right??? Due to its high hardness, the service life of ordinary ball valves used with silicon powder is very short; it is known that when domestic hard-sealed ball valves are used, they need to be replaced once a week in the most frequent cases. In current silicone and polysilicon projects, disc valves are the preferred choice for locations where frequent operation is required. Their sealing surfaces are of a flat design, and with each opening and closing, the valve disc rotates by a certain angle; even when worn, the wear is uniform. Compared to ball valves, they offer much higher reliability. Previously, there was only one brand of disc valves in the market: EVERLASTING from the United States, and their prices were extremely high. In China, there is Shanghai Futaisi; its structure is similar to that of EVERLASTING, but significant improvements have been made in terms of hardening treatment, which has **extended its service life. The unit used by Xin’anjiang Silicone last year has not encountered any problems to date. For ball valves, only NELES and VTI offer satisfactory performance; however, they need to be replaced after about half a year, and their price is very high.
In terms of price, ball valves are slightly more expensive!
