Our factory’s decarburization system previously used pumps imported from the United States to inject defoamers into the system (plunger pumps); after several years of operation, problems arose frequently – the pumps would not function properly, and the defoamers could not be delivered. Later, a funnel-shaped container was directly installed at the outlet of the defoamer pump, with its larger end facing upward, and it was connected to the outlet pipeline of the defoamer pump to add the chemical to the system. Added to the inlet of the lean liquid pump; the low inlet pressure provides a suction effect. It works very well. Normally, a cover is placed on top of the funnel to prevent impurities from entering the system. The only drawback is that some personnel do not follow the regulations regarding the addition of chemicals – instead of mixing them with a certain amount of deionized water as required, they add pure defoamers directly, which can cause fluctuations in the absorption process in the absorber tower
