There is now a smoke exhaust pipe running through the wall. Initially, it was planned to make an opening in the wall and weld something around it, but the smoke exhaust pipe vibrates somewhat and tends to conduct heat to the wall; the temperature at its outlet reaches 400 degrees. Now, it is planned to add a sleeve outside, welding this sleeve to the wall, and sealing the gap between the sleeve and the smoke exhaust pipe with filler. Since the temperature of the smoke exhaust pipe is quite high, this may affect the filler. I’m not sure if this approach will work and whether it will achieve a proper seal. If a filler is to be used, what kind of filler should be employed? Do anyone have any better methods for passing through walls? Thank you!
Just use fire-resistant fiber cloth, right?
The sleeve has been welded to the wall, and then three supports are used to weld the sleeve to the pipe; a certain gap is left between the sleeve and the pipe to reduce heat conduction. The space in between is filled with glass fiber, and the outside is covered with cement gypsum powder. Our company operates at a temperature of 300 degrees, and the glass fiber can withstand this temperature, but it’s not clear whether it can handle 400 degrees as well.
I don’t understand why a sleeve needs to be added; it would be sufficient to make the hole in the wall a bit larger, so that the smoke pipe doesn’t come into contact with the wall (to provide support). Maybe I didn’t understand what you meant
The wall is only 8 mm thick and made of corrugated sheet; it’s best if they do not come into direct contact, and sealing is necessary
Weld the sleeve to the wall, and then weld three support plates to the sleeve; not welding it to the pipes helps avoid the risks associated with expansion and contraction. Leave a gap of 150-200 between the sleeve and the pipe; fill this gap with aluminum silicate fibers.
I was wondering if filling it with aluminum silicate fibers can achieve a good sealing effect, so that no air can get in or out; ideally, there should be specialized fans for allowing air to enter and exit
