I have a project, and due to difficulties in obtaining water sources, I am considering using reclaimed water from urban sewage treatment plants. However, I’m not sure how feasible this is, so I was wondering if there are any examples of plants that have done this before ? ? ?
To the best of my knowledge, none of the factories I’m aware of use this method. However, using reclaimed water from urban sewage treatment plants for production purposes is a good option. It is recommended to conduct research on the quality of this reclaimed water as well as the operating systems of the coking plant equipment before making a final decision. Just my humble opinion.

Depending on the quality of the reclaimed water, it can be used in certain areas of the coking process, but not in general circulating water systems. It is currently used in our plant for coking quenching and biochemical wastewater treatment.

As the Water Resources Department imposes increasingly strict regulations on the approval of industrial water use, it will be an inevitable trend for reclaimed water from urban sewage treatment plants to be used as water for industrial purposes
Since most urban sewage treatment plants are located far away from coking enterprises, the investment required for reusing treated water in such enterprises is high, both on-site and off-site. Additionally, there is limited policy support for water reuse in China; therefore, when the cost differences are not significant, it is not economical to choose this option. I haven’t heard of any use of reclaimed water domestically; in Japan, either Nippon Steel or Mitsubishi uses reclaimed water from municipal sewage treatment in some cases.
We have already started using treated municipal wastewater for production purposes. We plan to build our own municipal wastewater treatment system; the civil engineering drawings are set to be sent today, with construction to begin on the 20th. However, since I have been working on the feasibility studies for dry quenching of coke and benzene hydrogenation earlier on, I am not very familiar with this project. At present, I am unable to provide you with specific information; I need to learn more about it first. But one thing is for sure: treating municipal domestic wastewater is easier than treating industrial wastewater, and the quality of the water after treatment is much better. As for exactly what level of effectiveness can be achieved and which aspects of production water can be replaced by this treated water, I need to find out more~~~~~~Sorry
