To inventory here means to introduce, or to load warm benzene into the reactor. For system feeding, hot benzene first enters the bottom of the reactor, while the upper part of the reactor is vented to the flare.
Here, \"inventory\" refers to the materials being used. Such as inventory rate, inventory ratio, specific inventory. For inventorying this system, warm benzene is fed to the bottom of each reactor, and the top of each reactor is vented to the flare. In this system, hot benzene is added to the bottom of each reactor, with the exhaust outlet at the top of each reactor being connected to a flare. The term \"padding\" is quite fitting; I heard it for the first time. When we use that, the noun is usually a tower, the liquid stored inside the tank, and the verb refers to the \"padding\" operation used to establish the initial liquid level. It seems there isn’t any commonly used term in the industry. BTW: For a waterwheel like mine, the limit of 5 posts per version is clearly not enough: lol. But I do like the atmosphere of this version quite a bit.
Before the plant starts up, each tower/vessel is empty; to prevent equipment such as pumps from running idle, it is necessary to first fill them with a certain amount of material so that the liquid level reaches an appropriate level, before feeding can begin and the plant can operate continuously. In refining units, it is called “padding oil” because the feed materials for most of these units are various types of oils (crude oil, gasoline, coal, diesel, etc.); whereas in units with a stronger chemical focus, it is referred to as “padding material”. The corresponding term for deinventory is “material return/oil return,” which refers to the removal of the residual material remaining in the towers/vessels after the plant is shut down.
