What is the working principle of the dehydrator for hydrocracking feed oil? It would be better to have images. Also, what’s the purpose of setting a high differential pressure alarm on this?
In the full-fill operation of a coalescing dehydrator, there is a mesh-like structure called a coalescing mesh located between the internal inlet and outlet of the device. The fluid entering through the inlet must pass through this mesh in order to exit through the outlet. As the fluid flows through this mesh, the moisture it contains adheres to the mesh and flows down along it, thereby achieving dehydration. The reason for setting up a high differential pressure alarm is that when the amount of debris on the coalescing mesh increases and affects the flow of feed, an alarm is triggered to prevent the feed volume from falling below the required level, which could disrupt normal production.
