I’ve been working for only a short time, and I encountered a problem. After the equipment department came to our department to inspect the moving equipment, they told us that the pressure guide tube of one pump was blocked. Upon checking, it indeed was blocked. I only have a basic understanding that the pressure guide tube serves to cool the pump bearings. I have two questions for those who are more experienced: 1. I’m not sure what other functions it has; why is it called a pressure guide tube? 2. Since the liquid used is formaldehyde, which has a strong tendency to polymerize on its own, how can we prevent the pressure conduit from becoming clogged again?
Does the pressure guide tube cool the bearing? This is the first time I’ve heard of it. Could you explain it in more detail? Why not upload a picture?
It refers to pipes like PLAN11 for API flushing, which lead from the outlet to the mechanical seal or bearings. Used to flush the cooling seal or cooling bearings (such as magnetic pumps, shielded pumps).
Regarding the original poster’s question, I would like to ask: does the pressure guide tube you mentioned refer to the pipeline that runs from the pump’s outlet to its inlet? If so, it should be a return pipeline, not a pressure guide tube. Moreover, the poster mentioned that the material being transported tends to agglomerate, which is also a prerequisite for installing a return pipeline!
It’s basically the same as what was mentioned on the third floor: it’s a pipe that runs from the pump outlet to the mechanical seal. The pump is a centrifugal pump, and all three pumps on site have such pressure guide pipes. In addition to cooling the bearings, they also serve a sealing function. Since the pressure guide pipes are quite thin, with a DN15 diameter, how can we prevent them from getting clogged again?
