Are registered engineers useful?

Many people are taking the exam to become registered engineers these days. I’m not sure whether being a registered chemical engineer is useful in an employer’s perspective; those who know please share their thoughts
It should be very useful for those in the design field!
It must be useful! In many cases, this is the key to getting into a good company!
No matter how you look at it, if you work in a state-owned institution or enterprise and don’t have any other plans at the moment and are fairly satisfied with your job, I advise you not to pursue becoming a certified professional, as the vast majority of state-owned institutions and enterprises don’t need such qualifications at all, and it seems they don’t even recognize them； If you work in a foreign-funded or private enterprise, having a registered engineer certificate is indeed a good way to enhance your status.
Of course it’s useful; firstly, it’s quite beneficial for oneself as it helps one to improve. Secondly, it’s also useful for the organization if that’s what’s needed.

I think it’s more useful for people in design institutes; it doesn’t seem to be very recognized by some production units. Of course, if you can afford it, go for it; having it is definitely much better than not having it.
