How can the initial displacement of ANCHOR and support be set in Caesar? Is the CNODE method the only option? Set an associated node for the constraint, and then add the initial displacement of the constraint to that associated node.
Double-click the Displacements option to define the node and DX, DY, DZ, RX, RY, RZ.
However, when that node also has constraints defined, it conflicts with the displacement; so how should the displacement be adjusted in such cases? For example, NODE 10 has bidirectional constraints in both the X and Y directions, along with displacement.
For your situation, the Cnode method is the only option; I really don’t have any other solution. If anyone knows other methods, please point them out so we can all learn from them!

If it is known that node 10 has constraints X and Y, while the other directions Z, RX, RY, RZ are free, and the initial displacements of X and Y are known, after assigning a CNODE to point 10, should the displacements of X and Y be entered, or should values of Z, RX, RY, RZ be entered as 0 or left blank? If 0 is entered, does that mean it is a fixed point with an initial displacement?
Displacements will work just fine
This is a very good question. After consulting the C2 manual and establishing an experimental model, it was found that in the Displacements field, if left empty, there is no restriction in that direction ; If 0 is entered, the displacement in that direction is restricted to 0. The difference is too big. This input is different from those in other places, so everyone should pay attention.
I just watched the relevant instructional videos a couple of days ago, and indeed, as the person above mentioned, the field in Displacement cannot be left empty. The person above provided a very detailed summary and went over it again, helping us all learn from it.
Just use displacement directly – since we know the displacement in which direction, we can just enter that value. If there’s no displacement, we can enter zero. Why go through the hassle of using a cnode? I don’t understand it
