There are no specific regulations specifying whether wastewater pipes should be installed on pipe racks or underground; however, in theory, they are more often placed underground to facilitate discharge and collection.
It must be done underground; using pipe racks simply won’t work~

Why doesn’t it work? I think using pipe racks makes it easier to detect leaks, thereby preventing sewage from entering the soil, although it is more expensive.

Self-priming wastewater pipes must run underground. Pressure wastewater pipes can be laid underground or in utility tunnels. The specifications do not specify this explicitly, but generally speaking, if the pipe diameter is large, it is more reasonable to lay it underground. If the wastewater pipes are relatively small, there is no problem in running them through a conduit.
At first, the pipes in our factory were laid underground; due to ground subsidence and other issues, these underground sewage pipes broke, resulting in non-compliance with environmental standards. We are now planning to lay the pipes again using pipe racks.
