What type of foam is used in the acetic anhydride storage tank? ?
Fixed foam fire suppression system, YEKH type 6% resistant foam concentrate. :lol :victory:
Could foam react with acetic anhydride, releasing a large amount of heat and causing an explosion?
Of course not! If it reacts, then what’s the use of using it? ?
Our company uses water-based foam, which is environmentally friendly, has no unpleasant odor, and also has a long shelf life – around 7-8 years, I think.
The reaction of acetic anhydride with water produces acetic acid; it should be an exothermic reaction. On one hand, heat is generated, and on the other hand, this may cause the acetic anhydride to deteriorate? ?
As mentioned above, could someone with more experience give some advice regarding the reaction between the water in the foam and acetic anhydride? ?
